Our Yoga for Pregnancy classes are suitable for those who have not practised Yoga before, as well as those already practising regularly, appropriate for all stages of pregnancy from 12-42 weeks. Every class is designed to safely nourish your pregnant body, boost your energy levels and calmly soothe your mind, with an underlying focus on preparation for labour and birth. The classes also provide a valuable quiet and dedicated space in which to connect with your unborn baby. We explore a wide range of Yoga practices, including Yoga postures and flow, breathwork, relaxation and simple guided meditation. All Yoga techniques used within each class are selected on their suitability for pregnancy. To gain maximum benefit we recommend attending class every week throughout your pregnancy, although it's possible to join our classes at any stage of your pregnancy. The practical effectiveness of Yoga for Pregnancy increases with familiarity of the techniques taught and regularity of practice. Everything you may need for your class is here for you at the Yoga Sanctuary including plenty of cushions, bolsters and blankets. You are however encouraged to bring your own favourite cushion and blanket for use during relaxation.
Please note the classes are ongoing, meaning there is no 'course start date' or 'end date', women tend to join the classes as soon as they wish (after their 12th week of pregnancy) and often choose to continue right up to birth.

Women in full time employment are entitled to paid time off work to attend pregnancy yoga classes, which are covered by the category ‘antenatal appointments, relaxation and parentcraft classes’. These classes are run by Sarah Wilks, mum of 3 daughters, a Yoga Sanctuary trained Yoga teacher with additional specialist training in Yoga for Pregnancy with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, Sitaram organisation.

Postnatal Yoga for Mums
Saturdays: 11.15am - 12.30pm Price: £45 for 6 classes
It’s extraordinary being a mother but it isn’t always easy! You are probably exhausted, your energy needs restoring. Your physical body has radically changed and stretched through the pregnancy and birthing process, your postnatal body needs strengthening and toning back into alignment. You are experiencing deep love but probably also a great deal of stress, you need to release this tension and feel supported in doing so. Welcome to the Sanctuary Postnatal Class! This Saturday morning postnatal class for new Mums is devoted to nourishing and restorative Yoga for your Postnatal body, providing some valuable and rejuvenative ‘Me Time’. We focus on healing and restoring both your inner and your outer body. On a physical level the practices are designed to promote ease and comfort, toning the key areas of the abdominal region, lower back and pelvic floor area back to strong health and alignment. The practices will re-energise and lift the spirits, we always conclude with a period of recuperative rest. The Yoga also works on a deeper level, through the release of tension you can reconnect with your inner self so you leave the class feeling like you have more to give - more energy, more patience, more love. Here’s what some of our Mum’s have said about the classes:- “Coming to the Postnatal Yoga classes is really such a special and grounding experience almost beyond words and provides me each week with such a precious bit of space (almost the only bit of space at the moment) to find my way back to myself - it is indeed a way in which it is possible to mother myself a bit!” “My first Postnatal Yoga class after giving birth will go down in history as one of the most memorable moments of my life! Price: £40 for a block of 6 classes
Some valuable dedicated time for you and your baby to connect through the spirit of Yoga, here at the Yoga Sanctuary. Naturally these classes have an informal and fun feel to them, adapting to the needs of the babies as the situation calls. And of course you’ll feel comfortable to feed your baby as and when the need arises.
These beautiful classes are run by Sarah Webb, a trained Postnatal and Children’s Yoga Teacher, mummy of 1 year old Meg.
